Alt tags contain semi hidden text that is read by the search engine robots and spiders. This text is an important source of information about your website. But it is hidden in the html of your website so not seen by the public.

This is alternate text that is shown if the image does not load or whilst the image is loading or the text will show if you hover your mouse cursor over the image. For example your image file may be called '1.jpg' but the image may be described as 'sausage and mash'. You can put any text you want in the alt tag and many search engines and directories will rate this text when they ranking your page.

Alt tags are a great place to fit in your keywords while describing what an image is. The format is as follows:

Anchor Tags

Anchor tags that are associated with hyperlinks to other pages or websites. The anchor tag is the tag that creates a hyperlink on your web page. As with so many other elements of a web page you should consider what text is in your anchor tags. For example:
